As part of its effort to become an anti-racist organization that truly welcomes all volunteers and members, Girl Scouts River Valleys is revising its volunteer policies to mitigate the implicit biases and characteristics of white supremacist culture present in those systems. I presented with colleague Idelle Erickson to the Minnesota Alliance for Volunteer Advancement Dismantling Inequities Conference.
In this session, we shared our process and progress, the lessons we learned, and shared resources that other organizations can use to begin a similar journey.
